Ossai Miazad
OSSAI MIAZAD, an associate at Outten & Golden LLP, represents employees individually and in class actions, in all areas of employment law. Before joining Outten & Golden LLP, Ms. Miazad represented employees at a plaintiff-side firm in Washington D.C. As the recipient of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights 2004 – 2005 George N. Lindsay Civil Rights Legal Fellowship, Ms. Miazad worked with the Employment Discrimination Project to challenge the systemic barriers faced by minorities and women in the workplace. She is active in several bar associations including the New York City Bar Association where she serves on the Committee on Civil Rights (2009-2011). Ms. Miazad also serves as co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Fair Labor Standards Legislation Subcommittee on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act ("USERRA") and is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association ("NELA") and NELA’s New York chapter. Prior to law school, Ms. Miazad worked as a campaign organizer for the Feminist Majority Foundation. Ms. Miazad received her B.A. from Vassar College and her J.D., with honors, from American University’s Washington College of Law where she received the Public Interest-Public Service Scholarship Award. She is admitted to the New York State and District of Columbia bars. |
