SETH M. MARNIN is an associate at Outten & Golden LLP Connecticut office, where he represents employees in litigation and negotiation in all areas of employment law. Seth is a member of the firm’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Workplace Rights Practice Group and the Disability and Family Responsibility Practice Group.

Before joining Outten & Golden LLP, Mr. Marnin was the Director of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Resources for the University of Connecticut where he provided leadership to the University of Connecticut’s ten campuses on all issues related to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Allied Community (LGBTQQA). In this role, he assessed the educational, political, legal and social environment of the campuses and made formal recommendations and advocated to enhance the quality of life for LGBTQQA students, faculty and staff.

During law school, Mr. Marnin clerked for the Honorable Lois Tanzer. He also was a law clerk for the Connecticut Department of Public Health and Attorney Jamie Mills in Hartford, Connecticut.

Seth speaks frequently on LGBT and women’s issues. He has written extensively about LGBT matters and authored a radio documentary, "A Year in the Life: Albany’s Gay Rights," aired on Talking History.

Mr. Marnin received his B.A. from the University at Albany, SUNY in Women’s Studies and Sociology and his M.A. in Liberal Studies He earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Marnin is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and its New York and Connecticut affiliates (NELA/NY and CELA), as well as the American Bar Association and the Connecticut State Bar Association. He also serves as the Co-Chair of NELA's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee and is the Treasurer of CELA.
