The Irish element of a new global legal network to protect the rights of executives and employees working in an international environment has been launched by Hayes Solicitors.

Lawyers International Network for Employees and Executives (LINEE) is dedicated exclusively to the growing number of employees in an increasingly globalised business world that require legal advice as a direct result of increased employment mobility across numerous jurisdictions.

It means that for the first time, a strong international network will exist to serve the interests of executives and employees, in contrast to the range of networks out there servicing companies.

Davnet O’ Driscoll, LINEE’s nominated representative in Ireland and senior associate of Hayes Solicitors said: Today in Ireland there is an increasingly international workforce that travels globally for their employers. Employees that work outside of Ireland, employees that are seconded to other countries or transferred abroad are affected by this change in terms of their contracts and legal rights.

It is essential that employees are aware of their employment rights in advance of movement between countries.   This is especially relevant for Ireland due to the numbers travelling for employment in the UK and for those employed in multinationals and the financial services sector. ”

Amongst the firms in the LINEE network include Hayes Solicitors in Ireland with Slater & Gordon LLP and Outten & Golden LLP from the UK and US, respectively, with ten firms in total from ten countries making up the membership. LINEE has also selected firm members in Australia, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada.
