WASHINGTON, DC – Outten & Golden LLP, the largest U.S. law firm dedicated exclusively to the representation of employees, today announced the promotion of whistleblower attorney David M. Jochnowitz to Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Whistleblower & Retaliation Practice Group, with Tammy Marzigliano. The promotion stands in line with the firm’s longstanding commitment to advancing the interests of employee whistleblowers nationwide.
Dave has passionately devoted his entire legal career to protecting employees who speak out against corporate fraud – helping them protect the public interest, fighting back against retaliation, and guiding them through their interactions with government agencies.
His clients have included:
- Physicians exposing massive kickback schemes
- Investment professionals uncovering complex financial fraud
- Pharmaceutical sales representatives refusing to market drugs in dangerous ways
- Financial advisors stopping Ponzi schemes
- Company executives pushing back against illegal corporate practices
Collectively, these clients have helped the federal government recover hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud judgments and settlements, while earning tens of millions for their assistance through the SEC, CFTC, IRS, and state and federal False Claims Act whistleblower reward programs.
Dave is also a prominent member of the whistleblower attorney community who regularly speaks on trends in whistleblower law, including at recent conferences held by the Anti-Fraud Coalition and the American Bar Association. In 2023, Dave was also recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
“For over a decade, Outten & Golden’s Whistleblower & Retaliation Practice Group has had tremendous success advocating on behalf of whistleblowers, protecting and enforcing their rights against retaliation,” said Marzigliano. “Dave’s promotion will strengthen our clients’ trust in who we are: passionate advocates for whistleblowers who stand up to protect investors, patients, taxpayer funds, and the public interest.”
“Dave knows the immense impact that whistleblowing can have on one’s career and life, and he deeply respects the emotional, legal, and financial aspects of their journey,” said Adam T. Klein, managing partner of Outten & Golden LLP. “Today’s announcement reflects our firm’s ongoing commitment to providing whistleblowers with comprehensive legal support while putting power back in the hands of employees. We are thrilled to welcome Dave to the firm’s partnership.”
For the past 10 years, Dave has also served as Founder and Director of Success in Kapiri, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that works to improve education access in Malawi.
Dave received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. in Economics – Finance from Brooklyn College. He is admitted to practice law in New York and the District of Columbia.
