Last July, a group of disgruntled workers filed a lawsuit against Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, accusing the restaurateurs of wage violations. This week, a judge gave the plaintiffs in the suit permission to file their case as a class action lawsuit involving all of the duo’s eight New York area restaurants, not just the five they work at. Pretty much all of the restaurateurs’ tipped workers will get a notice inviting them to join.
